NEW U PDATE 12-20-11
This was our best Christmas in the Kitchen event to date.  Not only did we have great support from many people and organizations such as Seven Rivers Highland Society - but we had a great turn out and response.  This year we had 8 huge boxes packed full of toys along with $2,150 to the St. Vincent's Home for Children!  That is three and a half times the amount we gave last year.  All we can say is WOW.  What a difference this will make in so many children's lives in the St. Louis and Missouri area.  If it was not for the support of all of you - this type of success could not be possible.  We hope our momentum continues to build and we can make a bigger impact next year for another Children's charity in the community.  Stay tuned for more upcoming events that you can support and attend.  Click here to see photos from the event and toy / money delivery.

On Tuesday, December 1st, Scots For Tots was invited to participate in their second joint holiday venture with Mitzi MacDonald's Keltic Reign  for the annual Christmas in the Kitchen Concert.  Prior to the show and during intermission, Scots For Tots hosted a Silent Auction table along with hors d oeuvres.  The music was sensational and every toe was tapping and hand was clapping to the energetic traditional celtic music.  The Sheldon concert hall was filled with an energetic, generous audience.  As the folks found their way to their seats, they made a trip to the Christmas tree next  to the stage to donate a new toy for the Missouri Baptist Children's home or a food item for the Food Bank.

Keltic Reign rang in the Christmas season cheer as they invited patrons to visit the "Kitchen table" to partake in holiday cookies and a soothing Scottish Tea provided by Traveling Tea as they performed.  After the intermission, everyone returned to their seats eagerly awaiting to see if they had won the items that they bid on as Scots For Tots President, Ian Good announced the winners.  Ian was joined on stage by Scots For Tots Vice President, Ally Nisbet, and Secretary/Treasurer Bill Smythe.  Along with the Scots For Tots members on stage was a representative from the Missouri Baptist Children's Home.  They all thanked the crowd for their warm hearted gifts to the home and expressed how each toy will make a big difference in a child's Christmas morning.

When the evening concluded, there were enough toys boxed up to fill the back of a large pick up truck, as well as over $480  from the Silent Auction proceeds to be delivered to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home.  The members of Scots For Tots along with Mitzi MacDonald showed up to Missouri Baptist Children's Home to deliver the toys and money the week before Christmas.  The Campus administrator explained how our efforts were going to help several hundred children and their families this Christmas season.

We look forward to participating again in the annual Christmas in the Kitchen concert in December 2010.  We will see you all there.  Click here to see pictures from the event.
